Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep is thrilled to announce to Jeep fans in Tyler TX that the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been named the “Four Wheeler of the Year” by Four Wheeler Magazine. Wrangler succeeds last year’s winner, the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
“By earning the respected ‘Four Wheeler of the Year’ award, consumers – and particularly the most die-hard off-road enthusiasts – can be assured that the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has established an even higher level of unmatched capability,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “We are delighted the influential editors of ‘Four Wheeler’ magazine have recognized Wrangler’s new level of capability, along with its improved power, torque and fuel efficiency.”
Wrangler Rubicon and Rubicon Unlimited are the models made for serious off-roading. A combination of Sport and Sahara-grade pieces, they also get an electric-disconnecting front anti-sway bar, the Rock-Trac heavy-duty transfer case, a heavy-duty front axle, locking front and rear differentials, a 4.10:1 axle ratio, rock rails, BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain tires on alloy wheels and other equipment intended for the serious off-roader. The Rubicon offers options similar to other models, and safety features that come standard include dual front airbags, tire-pressure monitor, anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control with rollover mitigation. Seat-mounted front side airbags for torso protection are optional.
Powering the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 24-Valve VVT engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Pentastar V6 engine is a new addition to the Wrangler and is an improvement over its pervious powertrain option. In fact the new engine even boosts the Wrangler’s fuel efficiency from 15mpg city/19mpg highway to 17mpg in the city and 21mpg on the highway.
To enhance the 4×4 experience, the 2012 Wrangler also offers the Command-Trac Shift-on-the-Fly 4WD System. Speed control, which is perfect for long stretches of highway and hill start assist, which can be quite handy for the more adventurous drivers, is also standard on the new model. Off-roading enthusiasts will also appreciate its transfer case skid plate shield and fuel tank skid plate shield.
Jeep Wrangler drivers won’t have all the fun though; passengers can enjoy its 6-speaker audio system with steering wheel mounted controls, audio jack input for mobile devices, built-in CD player, and MP3 connectivity. Other standard interior features include reclining front seats, a rear fold-and-tumble seat, auxiliary 12-volt power outlet, Sunrider soft-top, cargo tie-down loops, and a tilt steering wheel.
Jeep shoppers in the Tyler TX area can schedule an appointment to test drive the “Four Wheeler of the Year” by calling Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep at (877) 495-1171 or visiting their showroom located at 1798 East Highway 31, Athens.

The Mac Haik Dodge Chrysler Jeep auto repair center in Georgetown is offering customers new ways to save on a selection of services that include lube, oil & filter changes, a cooling system flush, fuel injection service and more.
The Georgetown auto repair center of Mac Haik has many special money-saving offers on their website that Georgetown customers can take advantage of immediately.
Some of the specials include a lube, oil & filter change for $26.95 and a cooling system flush for $149.95.
Many car owners don’t realize that keeping up with regular oil changes can actually help improve a vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Dirty oil in a car’s engine creates friction between the moving parts. The more friction an engine must deal with, the more heat it will produce. This combination of friction and heat will lead to a decrease in the total number of miles per gallon each engine can go in between fill-ups.
Regular oil changes are also a great way to ensure the life of an engine for years to come. An engine that is maintained on a consistent basis will remain cleaner and a clean engine is less likely to seize up on its owner. Routine oil changes are a great combatant to engine buildup. New oil acts as a recycling agent and helps to remove deposits, while lubricating the engine in the same process.
When it comes to getting an oil change or tire pressure monitoring, most Georgetown auto repair customers make it a point to schedule regular appointments for service. Some, however, do not realize that the same regular service is needed to check for other vital fluids in their vehicle. The cooling system relies on coolant, and its effectiveness can diminish over time. To avoid complications, Mac Haik service technicians recommend changing coolant at least once a year. High mileage drivers may require an additional check.
The service technicians at Mac Haik are able to repair or replace any of the following components of the cooling system:
Georgetown auto repair customer can take advantage of these special prices for a limited time. For more information or to schedule service, call Mac Haik at (877) 850-7479 or visit their dealership located at 5255 S Interstate 35, Georgetown.
